2015 Kiwanis One Day

The Kiwanis One Day event was held on 11 April 2015. Kiwanis members serve their communities all year long. But the excitement for service really builds in April each year when Kiwanis members come together for Kiwanis One Day-a day of community service that is felt around the world.

On the 11 April, Kiwanis Club of Singapore gathered 50 under-served children and parents from a Primary School and a Family Service Centre, over 40 Key and K-Kids clubbers, and 20 Kiwanians and friends of Kiwanians for an outing of cartooning activity and prawn fishing at a commercial park. Our volunteer cartoonist led the 2.5 hour session on drawing cartoon characters in the morning, followed by lunch. We then did prawn fishing despite the heavy downpour, and had a BBQ on site to cook the prawn catches. The event started at 8.30am and ended at 3pm.

Our partner in this project was Care Corner – a charity group that runs a number of FSCs (Family Service Centres), Youth Centres and After-School-Care programmes for the less privileged in the neighbourhood.
